James O’Brien is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner known for delivering compassionate, holistic care to every patient. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University and holds bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Exercise Science. His clinical journey includes specialties in dermatology and sexual medicine, along with formative experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Before dedicating himself to healthcare, James worked as a fashion publicist, where he cultivated a keen sense of personal connection and attentive communication—skills that now enhance his patient care.

Residing in Providence, RI, James shares his home with Monte, his lively rescue dog from a Puerto Rican beach. Inspired daily by mindfulness and meditation, James integrates these principles into his approach, always striving to make patients feel valued and understood.

He is especially passionate about LGBTQIA+ health, hormone therapy, and building inclusive, affirming communities. James combines clinical excellence with heartfelt support, believing true healing happens where compassion and mutual respect thrive.
